about

Handball Alley was recorded in the CIE Sports and Social Club in Limerick and was installed in Limerick City Gallery of Art as a multi-channel, spacial sound installation. It was made in collaboration with a group of young women from Ballinacura-Weston, in Limerick. The was the first game of handball the woman had played since childhood and since the local handball alley became became unsafe to use.

There is a history of handball and All-Ireland champions in the area. This work aims to celebrate and reclaim this history.
